Christ died for all out sins. Those who put their faith in Him as Lord and Savior are accepted and their sins forgiven. Which sins? ALL OF THEM.
God knows everything you have done, are doing and will do. You cannot hide anything from Him. Jeremiah 16:17 says:
For My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from My face, nor is their iniquity hidden from My eyes.
But do you know that God loved you enough to send Jesus to die for you – yes, you personally – while you were still a sinner? Romans 5:8 tells us:
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
And did you also know that, when we are saved by Jesus Christ, God remembers our sins no more! That is not just “preacher speak” – that is the Bible – the Word of God. Hebrews 8:12 provides that assurance from God:
“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”
So, God knows about those skeletons in the closet, no matter how hard we may try to hide them! He knows – and here’s the best part – He loves us anyway. You want to see the result of salvation on those skeletons? It’s laid out by the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
See that list of skeletons in the closet? “And such WERE some of you.” This was in the past. Then comes one of the greatest words in the Bible – “But.” But, when we place our faith in Jesus Christ, those skeletons no longer have any power over our eternal destiny! There is no reason to fear the skeletons anymore! God has not given us a spirit of fear. 2 Timothy 1:7.
Got skeletons? Give them to God and be free. The first step is to confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead. Romans 10:9. The result – you will be saved! You will be washed, you will be sanctified, you will be justified.
