Psalm 100:2 says, “Serve the Lord with gladness.” Think about that for a moment. Are you serving the Lord with gladness? You see, there’s really two questions there.
The first is – are you serving the Lord? If you are a child of God, you are called to serve Him out of love. Romans 12:1 says that we are to present our bodies as living sacrifices, which is our reasonable service, in light of all that God has done.
But let’s go further. Are you serving Him with gladness? Why does God call us to this type of service? Because through serving Him with gladness, we can proclaim to the world and show the world what a loving Lord we have. If you are moping around because you “have to” serve God, then you are not serving Him at all. Your gladness – your joy – in serving is praise and honor to Him.
Very few things will ignite your love for Him like serving others. Come join us at Maple Grove as we serve each other, this community and beyond! And don’t forget the Youth Valentine’s Banquet on Saturday, February 11th at 6 P.M. It will be a treat, and all offerings will be used to help the Youth in either summer camp or mission projects.
