“The Light of Christmas: the Wonder of Light”

I want to extend a special invitation to all!  Make this Christmas unforgettable—Experience the Light of Christmas!  Not the lights of Christmas – you will not find this true light at a shopping center, on a Christmas tree or strung up on your gutters. You will find this true light in the person of Jesus Christ.

It is the most wonderful time of the year—or so the old song goes. But it does not always feel that way. We can all probably identify something that makes us stressed this time of year, or something that brings sadness mixed with happiness or excitement when the carols start playing in the shopping stores. Hectic schedules, rampant materialism and reminders of personal wounds are just a few of the reasons.

But the truth is that the Christmas season offers a unique opportunity to experience God’s love and grace in the midst of real life. Christmas can still truly give us a taste of the most wonderful time of world history. Jesus—the Messiah, the Savior—came as the light into the darkness, the stress and the pain of the world—our world. Just as then, we need that true light today to illuminate, clarify, guide, and heal. Christ’s coming brings that ultimate light and His hope, peace, joy, and unconditional. Those are the true gifts of Christmas. And He is worth celebrating.

We would love to see you at Maple Grove every Sunday leading up to Christmas, and on Christmas Day itself, but I specially invite everyone to join us on Christmas Eve at 6:00 pm as we celebrate how Jesus’s birth changed everything and brought light into the world!  We hope to se you there.
