This Christmas, like all others, I pray that you and your family will be filled with peace and joy as you celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ so many years ago. Make plans to attend a Bible believing and teaching church every Sunday leading up to Christmas Day to keep focused on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This month in Maple Grove’s Sunday morning services, we will be looking at the promises of hope, peace, joy and love set forth in the Bible based on His birth, life, death, resurrection and promised return.
The Children’s Christmas Program will be on Sunday, December 11th at 6 P.M., and our special Candlelight Christmas Eve Service will be on December 24th at 6 P.M. We would love for you to join us at Maple Grove, but wherever you are, we do pray that you will be giving God Glory and Praise for all that He has done – and most of all for sending Jesus Christ as the best Christmas gift ever!
You know, the “worldly” view of Christmas continues to press in. The world wants to push Christ out of Christmas – to make it all about toys, and things we can buy. But, it cannot be done – not even grammatically! We need to remember all blessings come from God and be thankful for all His blessings at this time of year. We need to always remember that Jesus Christ was born knowing that He would go in a few short years to the Place of the Skull, and be crucified for sins He did not commit. He did that joyfully, knowing that His death would be offered as a gift to all men and women willing to receive the gift of eternal life. So, it is for that reason that we celebrate His birth this month. Was He born December 25th? Probably not, but here is the thing – if you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ – you celebrate His birth, death and resurrection every single day.
So, yes, let us celebrate Christmas Day – but do not stop there! Celebrate Him every day! Worship Him every day!
Penny and I wish you and yours a warm and wonderful Christmas as together we celebrate the birth of our Lord and look forward with expectant hope to His return for the church and to spending eternity with Him!
In celebration of Him,
Bro. Parks
