Church Family:
Every so often, we sing the Hymn “I Love To Tell the Story” written by Arabella Hankey in 1866. The refrain of that Hymn is:
I love to tell the story,
’Twill be my theme in glory,
To tell the old, old story
Of Jesus and His love.
And the old words tell us something else:
I love to tell the story, ’tis pleasant to repeat,
What seems each time I tell it more wonderfully sweet;
I love to tell the story, for some have never heard
The message of salvation from God’s own holy Word.
I hope you never get tired of hearing the story of Jesus. It is certainly “pleasant to repeat.” I pray you repeat it also. I pray it is “more wonderfully sweet to you” each time you tell it.
The reason the story should get “more wonderfully sweet” for Christians is that we should be growing (to the point of being filled) in our knowledge of the Lord’s will “in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that we may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.” Colossians 1:9-10.
So, get ready this year. We’ll lift Jesus up by looking at the true, complete story of God that the Bible presents. The more you know Him, the more you will love Him. The more you know Him, the more you will worship Him. The more you know Him, the more you will share Him.
Are you ready to hear the “old, old story?” Are you ready to tell the “old, old story?” It never really gets old. He makes it new each day!
Let’s lift Jesus Higher in 2025!
