When did the Christmas decorations go up at your local superstore? If not before Halloween, it was likely the day after. What happened to Thanksgiving? We so often skip it.
In 1789, George Washington declared Thursday. November 26 as a national day of Thanksgiving. I want all to think about what he wrote:
“Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor…”
We are told that there is a way to enter God’s throne room when we pray:
“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.”
Psalm 100:4.
Don’t get so busy you forget to be thankful. Remember, James 1:17:
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights,”
Praise Him! Be thankful!
