It’s time to give thanks! We should be thankful each and every day, not just on the 4th Thursday of November. At this time of year, our thoughts often turn to our material blessings, which are provided by God. But, I want to take this opportunity to ask you some questions about your spiritual blessings, and ask you to focus on how much the Lord Jesus Christ has blessed you spiritually.
- Has He forgiven you of your sins?
- Has He given you the helper, the Holy Spirit, to comfort you and lead you into truth?
- Has He prepared you for Heaven?
- Has He prepared a place for you in Heaven?
- Has He covered you with a robe of righteousness?
- Has He loved you?
- Has He given Himself for you?
If you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ, the answer to all those questions is yes and amen! If you have not placed your faith in Jesus Christ, know that He came to earth to do all of these things. He wants to forgive you, comfort you, cover you with His righteousness, prepare a place for you and welcome you to your eternal home. What does it take? It takes a confession of the heart that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior and belief that God raised Him from the dead. Romans 10:9. Come join us at Maple Grove to learn more about our wonderful Lord and Savior.
So, as we begin this season of Thanksgiving, let us remember first the eternal blessings that Jesus has bestowed upon us, and bless His Holy name. As Paul said in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, let us give thanks in everything.
Thank you, Lord Jesus.
