Once again this year, April brings us to the most important of Christian celebrations, what we call Resurrection Sunday, or Easter. This day (April 9 this year) celebrates the Resurrection of Christ from the dead after his crucifixion, as He had told His disciples would happen. It was the Resurrection that reassured the confused and frightened disciples and brought them back together, transforming them into a formidable force that took the Gospel to all corners of the world. It was the Resurrection that has changed the lives of followers on down to today! It is the Resurrection that gives us hope for the future.
The Resurrection changed everything! Jesus is alive! We serve a living Savior! The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is probably the most attested to historical fact in history. But, don’t just think about the fact of the Resurrection – think about the impact of the Resurrection in our lives. Because of the Resurrection:
- Life is worth living
- We can face the future without fear
- We can be sure of our salvation
- We can be sure God will hear the prayers of His children
This and so much more. Why? Because the Resurrection proved that God is in control, that Jesus died for our sin, that God the Father accepted His substitutionary death in our place, and that we will spend eternity with Him.
